Qualifications Needed: Completion of an accredited Health Care Aide program an asset.
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
The ability to work effectively with the overall care team, residents, and support agencies.
Compassionate, caring, and patient attitude.
The ability to handle residents functioning at a variety of physical and mental levels.
A genuine interest in working with the disabled elderly and chronically ill.
Continuing care experience an asset.
Description: Under the general direction of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Care Manager, or Director of Care/Site Manager, the Health Care Aide is responsible for providing routine nursing home and personal care services to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility.
Duties / Responsibilities: The Health Care Aide ensures resident care is provided with a focus on customer satisfaction and continual improvement by promoting the physical and emotional well being of residents. This position is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living including feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, and grooming, and assisting where directed by supervisory staff in all care requirements and maintenance of a safe, familiar, home like environment. Duties include documenting and reporting any and all changes in residents' conditions to the RN/LPN, assisting in the proper recording and maintenance of resident chart systems, and assisting in the establishment and implementation of the nursing care plan of each resident.
