|Qualifications Needed:||Graduate of a recognized and approved Licensed Practical Nurse program. |
Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
Demonstrated clinical competence, organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
Well developed analytical, judgment, and critical thinking skills.
Compassionate and caring attitude.
A genuine interest in working with the disabled elderly and chronically ill.
Continuing care experience an asset.
|Description:||Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Care Coordinator, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned resident care.|
|Duties / Responsibilities:||The Licensed Practical Nurse ensures resident care is provided with a focus on customer satisfaction and continual improvement. This position is responsible for assisting in the initial and ongoing physical and psychological assessment of residents, and reporting any relevant changes in resident status or deviations from anticipated responses/outcomes to the Registered Nurse/Care Coordinator. Following established policies and procedures, the Licensed Practical Nurse coordinates, facilitates, and participates in ensuring that the individual resident care plan is implemented in a safe and efficient manner utilizing judgment and initiative. This position involves participation in team reports, determining resident care plans, documentation, and the provision of direct support to residents.|
